The ten points of a post-cleaning quality check

The quality check happens once the main tasks are done. It lets you look at the home with fresh eyes and fix small visible flaws before leaving. This step does not necessarily take a lot of time. Above all, it requires method.

1. Observe each room from the doorway

The first look should focus on the overall impression: order, alignment, moved items, visible marks, consistency of presentation.

Taking a few seconds to step back reveals what escapes close-up work.

2. Check the mirrors

Mirrors should be viewed head-on and from the side, with available lighting. Edges and corners are often where traces remain.

3. Check the taps

Taps, handles and chrome parts must be clean and dry. Drops left after cleaning can create new marks within minutes.

4. Inspect the bathrooms

The check covers the bowl, seat, base of the toilet, shower, bath, basin, visible drains and replaced accessories.

You must also ensure no cloth or product has been left behind.

5. Look at floors in the light

Floors sometimes only reveal traces when light comes from the side. Check corners, accessible undersides and pathways.

6. Check the beds

Sheets must be smooth, pillows aligned and used linen removed. Look at the bedroom from the doorway to check overall balance.

7. Check the kitchen

The check covers sink, tap, hob, worktop, planned fronts, table, waste and items put back.

A clean kitchen must also be free of product residues.

8. Put items back

Anything moved during the visit must return to its place, unless instructed otherwise. A professional avoids imposing a new arrangement on the owner.

9. Check equipment and products

Before leaving, verify that no equipment has been left in a room and that the owner's products are properly closed. Dirty equipment must be kept separate from clean linen.

10. Follow exit instructions

The final check includes, per the agreed scope: windows, doors, lights, shutters, alarm, keys, heating without unauthorised changes, confirmation that the visit is over.

The final check is the last line of defence against oversights. It turns a series of completed tasks into a truly finished service.

Each home has its specifics. A first exchange helps understand your needs before any intervention.
